Abdominal Aortic Aneurysm Screening

AbdomenImage.jpg

The US Preventive Services Task Force has specifically recommended for a one time screening for an Abdominal Aortic Aneurysm (AAA) in men ages 65 to 75 years who have smoked based on four large trials. AAA is associated with an increased risk for death. AAA was seen up to 6 to 7% in this screened group. Based on these studies we were able to reduce mortality from 42% to 66%, giving this group a moderate net benefit, from this easy to perform screening test.

We at Advanced Cardiovascular Care offer this test at a fraction of the cost incurred when performed at our facilities. We are in the process of bringing this test to all our locations. Ask us more about this test.
